These beautiful note cards were inspired by the ancient tree folklore of Ireland.
The artist has produced these, a series of linocuts based on her knowledge of the age-old beliefs. The designs were then printed on locally sourced fine Irish linen using a Columbian press dating from 1825. These reproductions of the original prints are true and precise in their rendition of the artist's hand and in the representation of the warp and weft of the linen. The images here and enlarged do not reveal their beauty, the detail is spectacular. They are so lovely that you may not want to send them as cards but to frame them individually as art for your walls. Blank inside...
