
This design is based on St. Martin's Cross, an old stone Celtic cross situated near to the site of St. Columba's cell on the Scottish island of Iona.
St. Columba settled here after being banished from Ireland for copying the Book Of Psalms written by Finnian of Clonard, and subsequently established a monastery on the small remote island.

Our high quality kits contain only top grade materials, such as Zweigart fabric and DMC stranded embroidery cottons as well as a shade sorter (when necessary), embroidery needle, chart and easy-to-follow instructions. Besides providing you with all the necessary charts and instructions, the chart packs also list all the information needed including color codes for DMC, Anchor and Maderia threads. Many items also contain some historical information about the design for added interest.
All our designs are suitable for beginners and experts alike. They only contain full stitches and most are sewn using 3 strands of embroidery cotton, resulting in strong vibrant colors.
